If you didn't know, I currently do work as a pump jockey at a service station. I run the fuel pumps and keep the place in order. Now that graduation is coming up, I've been looking for a new job. I've been looking for something as a mechanic/technician, where I can put my technical school training to good use.
As far as I can remember, my neighbor has always been restoring classic cars. They weren't his, he was just doing the work. Around November, he moved the work out of his garage and into a larger building in another town. Word got around he was looking for someone else, so I went over and talked with him. He told me to go to the garage today and we'd talk.
I just got back from there, and it went very well. We talked, and I landed myself the job! They do restoration work on classics and exotics. He was showing me a couple projects there. Everything from a C6 Z06, to an Amphicar, to a 30's Auburn. When he did the work at home, it was always the coolest projects, definitely cars I'd never expect to see in our little town. Now it's the same story, only on a larger scale. It's a beautiful garage too. He had about 8 cars in there, plus working space.
Sounds like a lot of my work will be stripping down engines for sandblasting, machining and cleaning. I will also be helping out on the cars, too.
I'm so excited for this new step. I'm starting after graduation, in a month.

Oh I can't wait. I'm sure if I can take a couple pictures every now and then, I'll definitely have some to post here.

I'm sure it's gonna beat pumping gas in the pouring rain by a long shot.
